Thanks, Heath! Which parts surprised you?
Great resolutions Heath. I have been researching a lot of photographers blogs lately for ideas on how to design and construct mine. I hope you don’t mind, but I keep coming back to yours for the positive, meaningful, and inspirational content as apposed to the extensive self promotion of many others.
Keep it up !
Margie
have to say that there are a few parts that surprise me starting with #1. don’t see much business wise, much less in the creative community beginning things with family + workout. have a post on this soon as ran into it again lately so who knows, maybe it’s the year for it.
the backup (#4) doesn’t ever make lists either. curious what your tie to carbonite is as i’ve found super duper along with a combo of mobile me, drop box + retrospect to be solid.
#5 doesn’t happen enough. there may be one name on the door but that’s definitely not all that goes into it.
can’t agree that everyday is feasible but #7 is right on the mark – at least once a week.
lastly, wish #10 is as easy as it sounds but worth working on this year
Brian
thanx for the good words + checking in. always good to hear that the ideas are reaching the right people. hope you don’t mind the occasional self promo though will keep to a minimum, i promise. tim tadder had it right last year reminding us it’s all about the images. how’s everything in the carolinas?
Hi Heath,
Thanks for responding. Yes, I agree with #1. What’s the point of having your own business if you can’t enjoy your health and family, friends and life in general?
No ties to Carbonite, just seems easy.
#5 – as business owners we often forget that we have people around us (especially those we pay) to look out for our best interests. We should expect more from them.
# 7 is tricky sometimes, but you probably do it anyway without realized it.
#10 – another way to look at it is if something is effortless, it’s probably the right path. If it’s difficult or frustrating, look to your gut.
I’m a fan of #3 – I need to add more of that.
I think #7 might have to be bumped up to 10hours but that’s just me – lol
good stuff thanks for sharing!
