really like fiest’s take on it as a collaborative effort (as evidenced by her work w/ broken social scene in years past). the new documentary on her grammy nominated album “the reminder” called look at what the light did now features great pieces from her “amplifiers” as she calls them.

This week, I was lucky enough to attend a screening for the new documentary about Feist, “Look at What The Light Did Now.” The film follows the recording of Leslie Feist’s 2007 album The Reminder, and includes interviews with her “amplifiers” — everyone involved in the creative process, from laying down tracks to designing album artwork. I especially loved seeing how Montreal artist Clea Minaker developed the shadow puppetry that Feist’s live shows are famous for. If you like her music, or if you’re just interested in seeing an awesome artistic movie, you should check it out.

less then two weeks now until the sold out inaugural TEDPortland event. you can’t tickets anymore but if you’re around town next saturday it might be worth hanging around outside to see what you can pick up. can’t wait to hear what’s in store but even more excited to know that this should no doubt be a yearly event here.

+ with all that pdx has to offer in the way of ideas, creativity + downright zaniness it should only get richer in the future. definitely like to see more industrial design + architecture in future rounds.

speaking of apps, wunderlist seems to be phenomenal. don’t waste your cash on things right now as the syncing here is much better + only looks to be growing.

that’s what happens with all the good projects, all the good stuff in general. i think 2011 is the year for it. can see it in this gallery of scandinavian landscapes for sure + imagine over the course of six weeks in an old “76 toyota corolla that peter boel just keep rolling with it. feeling it. it shows. fantastic work from what i’m glad to call my homeland.

here’s a start from something totally different. something with a bit of momentum though.

here in portland, the chinese garden “the most authentic outside of china” is free this week if that’s your style. i prefer the cover of darkness myself but have recently taken to a new moleskine that pushes me into the light occasionally.
